Cathy gets her revenge, and it's gnarly.Given that Lifetime is adapting the next book, Petals on the Wind, after this, I thought I'd share the most shocking events that are still to come in this series. I've read the whole Flowers in the Attic series, and things only get worse after the first installment - we're talking revenge, more sordid sex, suicide, and general scandal. ![]() The viewer reaction seems to be WTF to many of Flowers in the Attic's scenes, but to that I say: you ain't seen nothin' yet. It's a horrific tale of physical and emotional abuse, psychological torture, and, of course. The story follows teenaged Cathy as she's locked up in the attic of her grandparents' home with her siblings - a plan of her mother's to keep them a secret. ![]() Andrews's bestselling 1979 novel, Flowers in the Attic, to life, starring Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka as main character Cathy and Heather Graham as her mother, Corrine. ![]()

The two embraced without a moment’s hesitation, and shared in their joy of reunion. Jerry was sitting at a table in the very back, reading the newspaper.Īs Yuto approached, his former colleague, Jerry Rodriguez, stood from his seat looking overcome with emotion. Yuto pushed the door open and walked into the antique-style establishment. I’ve structured it in a way that suits the following exam boards: CIE (Cambridge) / Edexcel IGCSE, CCEA. Read the poem and the poem analysis and make up your own mind about its advice! Yet, it also feels outdated in some ways - should we really never embrace our extreme emotions and always try to be ‘fine’ even when we’re not? Overall though, I do agree with its motivational and stoic attitudes - we should all certainly learn to make the best out of difficult situations and avoid arrogance or overconfidence in times of success. “If” by Rudyard Kipling is one of the most popular poems of the last century, and its inspirational messages hold true today as much as they did when it was written in 1910. ![]() ![]() ![]() Her friend hears about some shady dude (different than the three shady dudes who are now in prison) who is getting women out of town, so that’s probably fine, right? The whole first half of the book is getting to know these characters, but also not really some how? You find out that all three of these guys are super shady and they get arrested. You are first introduced to a few random characters who become integral to the plot: Mangle, Decker, Tazeem, and Tatiana. So… getting to the plot! The reason this book was on the “disturbing” list is because its (kinda of) about women trafficking. And yes, it definitely sounded like an interesting story… but man did it disappoint! Oh man… this book… I couldn’t wait to write about this book because it was so… just… weird!
